Penn State seeks to hire a Professor-in-Charge of the BFA Musical Theatre program. This is a complex position requiring a broad set of skills. In addition to being an accomplished practitioner in the field of Musical Theatre, the successful candidate will have significant academic and administrative experience. S/he must be dedicated to leading a strong program, advocating on behalf of the program and its faculty and students while working within a comprehensive School of Theatre. The position requires active collaboration with alumni, donors, and various administrative and outreach units centralized within the university. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate is slated to join the faculty in August, 2015, and assume the position of Program Head in December, 2015. Circuit Training: Ask a Director This is your chance to get acquainted with some of NYC’s best directors. For directors, actors, writers, and producers, each session of this 5-week class will have a different award-winning director sharing their first-hand accounts and advice on the production process. From casting to collaboration, incorporating revisions to reviews, each guest will challenge your concept of successful leadership and artistic success. Instructors will include Anne Kauffman (Belleville at NYTW, Detroit at Playwrights Horizons), Tony nominee Leigh Silverman (Violet, Chinglish,Well on Broadway), Rebecca Taichman (The Oldest Boy at LCT, Stage Kiss at Playwrights Horizons), Liesl Tommy (Appropriate at Signature, The Good Negro at The Public), and Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God at EST and MCC). GUEST ARTIST INITIATIVE
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
The Department of Dance at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Choreographer through SDCF’s Guest Artist Initiative Program to create a dance piece (a 12-15 minute new work or recreation of a finished work by a notable contemporary choreographer) on their students. The work will be performed in the November Dance 2015—an annual concert featuring works by faculty and guest artists in the 700-seat Cowell Playhouse Theater in the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.
Ithaca College
The Department of Theatre Arts at Ithaca College is seeking a Director or Director/ Choreographer through SDCF’s Guest Artist Initiative Program to direct and/or choreograph a Fall Play or Musical to be chosen by the faculty in consultation with the Guest Artist for their Fall 2015 season.
***Only Full SDC Members in good standing are eligible to be hired for positions through the Guest Artist Initiative. Please note that although the school will make all hiring decisions, SDCF will collect all application materials for the school. Do not contact the school directly; this program is designed to make it easier for schools to hire professionals and, thus, we will be acting as administrator (though SDCF plays no role in selection).

SDCF MASTERS OF THE STAGE
In collaboration with Theatre Development Fund, SDCF offers free downloadable podcast recordings of SDCF events. These programs feature master directors and choreographers, along with other industry professionals, discussing the craft and business. New programs are added twice monthly.
