Monday Meetup is SDCF’s bi-monthly online informal gathering for directors and choreographers. With new hosts and topics each month, each event is an opportunity to gather in community and get to know one another through group conversations about different aspects of the crafts of directing and choreography.

The September Monday Meetup will be hosted by Sivan Battat and abigail jean-baptiste and the conversation will center around the pre-production, design, and research processes for a show. Building on the most recent gathering, which focused on inspiration & aesthetics, we’ll ask: what is your approach to preparation? How do you ask: who is this piece for, why this piece, and what will it look/sound/feel like? This event will focus on peeling back the curtain and discussing how folks approach the prep/pre-production phase in both traditional and non-traditional processes and spaces.
