JOE A. CALLAWAY AWARD PRESENTATION IN NYC
The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation present the Joe A. Callaway Award in accordance with Mr. Callaway’s directive to recognize excellence in the crafts of direction and choreography during the New York City theatre season from September 1 through August 31. The Callaway Committee, composed of current longstanding SDC Members, was established in 1989 and considers all professional shows (with the exception of Broadway and Showcase productions) produced within the five boroughs of New York City. With more than one hundred fifty eligible productions in New York City this year, the Callaway Award is SDCF’s most competitive award for established directors, and it is the only award in the country selected by peer directors and choreographers for work on a specific production.
This year’s finalists and awardees will be invited to a private reception in New York on October 28 from 5:30 – 7pm. Finalists will be contacted by October 13, 2013.
